When apartment hunting, you probably have a list of “must-haves” that help you decide if the space is suitable for your needs or not.
Perhaps your heart’s desire is to have a guest bathroom or would rather live in a top-floor apartment so that you don’t have to listen to the little pitter-patter of feet. If you have a pet, however, you need to be sure to include pet-friendly features on your must-have list.
Having a pet is already a huge responsibility and living in an apartment can make taking care of your furry friend a much more challenging task. Finding a pet-friendly rental in Edmonton will help ease some of the stress and allow your pets to live comfortably. So, what makes an apartment pet-friendly? Find out more below!
Pet-Friendly Flooring
Choosing the right flooring for your apartment concerns both you and your pet. Even if your pet is fully house trained, a dog may occasionally track mud into the house and a cat may kick some of his or her kitty litter onto the floor.
While carpeting can work for both cats and dogs, it is a hassle to continuously clean and maintain it. Hardwood, linoleum, and tile flooring look better and are much easier to clean.
None of our apartments at Le Louvre are outfitted with carpeted flooring, allowing for pet comfort, and minimal maintenance.
Easy Access to a Dog Park
Unlike cats, dogs need to go outside several times a day for some exercise and a bathroom break. A place that requires driving to get to an appropriate location to exercise your dog is not ideal, especially during the cold winter months.
Our tenants with canine friends at Le Louvre get exclusive access to Century Bark, our 2.5-acre gated dog park. There, you and your dog can play and make friends with other members of our community.
Enough Room to Accommodate the Zoomies
If you’re a pet owner, you’re likely familiar with what the zoomies are. It’s when your furry friend starts zooming around the house for no reason at all during any time of the day.
To avoid finding your belongings thrown about the house when you come home, choose an apartment that has adequate space for your pet to let out some of their energy.
We offer a wide range of studios, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom apartment configurations and sizes to accommodate you and your pet’s needs.
